How To Take
Olmesartan medoxomil plus Amlodipine besilate may be taken with or without food. It may be administered with other antihypertensive agents.
If you also take certain drugs to lower your cholesterol (bile acid-binding resins such as cholestyramine, colesevelam, colestipol), take amlodipine/olmesartan at least 4 hours before any of these medications.
Dosage of Olmesartan + Amlodipine (Olmeheal AM 20) 20 mg + 5 mg
The maximum recommended dose of Olmesartan medoxomil plus Amlodipine besilate is 40/10 mg.
Maximum antihypertensive effects are attained within two weeks after a change in dose. Dosage may be increased after two weeks.
Replacement Therapy: Olmesartan medoxomil plus Amlodipine besilate may be substituted for its individually titrated components.
When substituting for individual components, the dose of one or both of the components can be increased if blood pressure control has not been satisfactory.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your usual dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose of Olmesartan + Amlodipine (Olmeheal AM 20) 20 mg + 5 mg
Signs of overdose may include the following:
- Excessive peripheral vasodilation with marked hypotension and possibly a reflex tachycardia
- Hypotension
- Tachycardia
- Bradycardia
Seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Olmesartan + Amlodipine:
- Patients with known hypersensitivity to Olmesartan medoxomil, amlodipine besilate, or any of its components

Warnings
Do not use Olmesartan + Amlodipine in people with the following conditions:
- Severe liver disease
- Severe kidney disease
- Heart valve condition (aortic stenosis)
- Severe loss of body water and minerals (dehydration)
