How To Take
This medicine may be taken with or without food.
Dosage of Paracetamol SR (Tynelol SR 1000) 1000 mg
Adult; Fever, Mild to moderate pain: 0.5-1 g 4-6 hourly. Maximum of 4 g daily.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your usual dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose of Paracetamol SR (Tynelol SR 1000) 1000 mg
Signs of overdose may include the following:
- Pallor
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Anorexia
- Abdominal pain
- Metabolic acidosis
- Glucose metabolism abnormalities
- Encephalopathy
- Hemorrhage
- Hypoglycemia
- Hypotension
- Cerebral edema
- Cardiac arrhythmia
- Pancreatitis
Seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Paracetamol SR:
- Hypersensitivity

- Neutropenia

- Methemoglobinaemia
- Agranulocytosis
- Angioedema
- Rarely, hypotension and tachycardia

- Insomnia
- Erythema
- Flushing
- Pruritus
Potentially Fatal:
- Hepatotoxicity
- Acute renal tubular necrosis
- Rarely, hypersensitivity reactions such as acute generalised exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP)
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome (SJS)
- Toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN)
Warnings
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
- Phenytoin
- Carbamazepine
- Warfarin
- Chloramphenicol
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements and non-prescription medicines.

How Does Paracetamol SR (Tynelol SR 1000) 1000 mg Work?
Paracetamol exerts its analgesic action by peripheral blockage of pain impulse generation. It also produces antipyresis by inhibiting the hypothalamic heat-regulating centre. Its weak anti-inflammatory activity is related to inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis in the central nervous system.

Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Patient with known G6PD deficiency
- Alcohol dependence
- Chronic malnutrition or dehydration
- Weight <50 kg
- Renal and hepatic impairment
- Children
- Pregnancy and lactation.
- Avoid alcohol
Storage Conditions
- Store between 20-25°C. Protect from light and moisture.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
- Do not use Paracetamol that is expired or out of date.
