How To Take
This medicine may be taken with or without food.
Ascorbic acid is available in different formulations such as tablets, chewable tablets, extended-release type of tablet or capsule (labeled “ER”), or oral liquid or syrup.
If you are taking the extended-release type of tablet or capsule (may be labeled “ER), swallow them whole, do not divide, chew, or crush the tablet or capsule.

It should be taken higher than or equal to 240 mg per day in divided doses for adults. For preventive therapy, 25-75 mg daily is usually given.
