Telmisartan + Amlodipine (Telmaheal 40 AM) 40/ 5 mg tablet is the combination of Amlodipine and Telmisartan and is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It is sometimes used together with other blood pressure medications.

How To Take
This medication may be taken with or without food.
Take this medication with a full glass (8 ounces) of water.
Take exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take in larger or smaller amounts or for longer than recommended. Follow the directions on your prescription label.
Dosage of Telmisartan + Amlodipine (Telmaheal 40 AM) 40/ 5 mg
Adult: Each tab contains telmisartan (mg)/amlodipine (mg): 40/5, 40/10, 80/5, and 80/10: 1 tab once daily. Dosage is individualized and may be increased after at least two weeks—maximum dose of Telmisartan 80 mg and Amlodipine 10 mg once daily.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your usual dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose of Telmisartan + Amlodipine (Telmaheal 40 AM) 40/ 5 mg
If you think you may have used Telmisartan + Amlodipine more than the usual dose, please seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Telmisartan + Amlodipine:
- Biliary obstructive disorders
- Cardiogenic shock
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Concomitant use with ACE inhibitors or aliskiren-containing products in patients with diabetes mellitus or renal impairment (GFR <60 mL/min).

How Does Telmisartan + Amlodipine (Telmaheal 40 AM) 40/ 5 mg Work?
Amlodipine is in a group of drugs called calcium channel blockers which work by relaxing the muscles of your heart and blood vessels. Telmisartan belongs to a group of drugs called angiotensin II receptor antagonists which keep blood vessels from narrowing, lowers blood pressure, and improves blood flow. The combination of the two drugs is used to treat hypertension.

Special Precautions and Connected Warnings
Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Patient with sodium- or volume-depletion
- Idiopathic or hereditary angioedema
- Primary hyperaldosteronism
- Severe obstructive coronary artery disease
- Heart failure
- Recent heart attack
- Mitral or aortic stenosis
- Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy w/ outflow tract obstruction
- Diabetes mellitus
- A patient undergoing surgery or dialysis
- Renal (e.g. unilateral/bilateral renal artery stenosis) and mild to moderate hepatic impairment
Storage Conditions
- Store at room temperature away from moisture and heat.
- Do not use Telmisartan + Amlodipine that is expired or out of date.
