How To Take Trimetazidine modified release (Flaveheal MR 35) 35 mg
This medicine should be taken together with food or immediately after a meal. Try to take it at the same time each day.
Trimetazidine must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking it unless instructed by the doctor.
Take Trimetazidine precisely as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Dosage of Trimetazidine modified release (Flaveheal MR 35) 35 mg
Adult: As adjunctive therapy for symptomatic treatment in patients who are inadequately controlled by or intolerant to first-line anti-anginal therapies: Conventional tab: 20 mg three times a day. Modified-release tab: 35 mg twice a day.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your usual dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose
If you think you may have used Trimetazidine more than the usual dose, please seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Trimetazidine:
- Parkinson’s disease
- Parkinsonian symptoms
- Tremors
- Restless leg syndrome and other movement-related disorders
- Severe renal impairment (CrCl <30 mL/min)
- Lactation

Trimetazidine blocks the beta-oxidation of fatty acids by inhibiting the long-chain 3-ketoacyl-CoA thiolase, thereby enhancing glucose oxidation. It prevents a decrease in intracellular ATP levels. It ensures the proper functioning of ionic pumps and transmembrane sodium potassium flow by preserving the energy metabolism in cells exposed to ischemia or hypoxia.

- Moderate renal impairment
