Isotretinoin (Accufine 30) 30 mg capsules is a retinoid derivative of vitamin A used to treat severe forms of acne that are resistant to treatments with antibiotics or topical therapy.

How To Take
This medicine should be taken together with food or immediately after a meal. Swallow it whole with a glass of water. Do not break, chew, or suck the capsule. Try to take it at the same time each day.
Take Isotretinoin precisely as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Dosage of Isotretinoin (Accufine 30) 30 mg
Initial: 0.5 mg/kg/day in single or 2 divided doses, increased to 1 mg/kg/day as needed. Usual duration: 16-24 weeks. Ensure a 2-month drug-free interval if a 2nd course is needed.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose of Isotretinoin (Accufine 30) 30 mg
If you think you may have used Isotretinoin more than the usual dose, please seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Isotretinoin:
- Hypervitaminosis A
- Hyperlipidemia
- Hepatic impairment
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Concomitant administration of tetracyclines.

- Elevation of serum triglycerides, liver function tests, ESR and blood glucose
- Mood changes
- Psychotic symptoms
- Depression and suicidal behavior.
Potentially Fatal:
- Hemorrhagic pancreatitis
- Severe skin reactions (e.g., Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis).
Warnings
Do not use Isotretinoin in people with the following conditions:
- Liver disease
- High levels of cholesterol and triglycerides (fat) in the blood
- Hypervitaminosis A (very high level of vitamin A in your body)
- Pregnancy
- Lactation
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any of these medicines:
- Tetracyclines
- Carbamazepine
- Phenytoin
- Vitamin A or formulations containing vitamin A
- Birth control pills
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and non-prescription medicines.

Isotretinoin is a synthetic retinoid that acts by reducing the size of the sebaceous gland and inhibiting the production of sebum. It has an anti-inflammatory effect, and regulates cell proliferation and differentiation.

Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Women of childbearing potential
- Anorexia nervosa
- History of photoallergy
- Psychiatric disorder (e.g., depression); pre-existing or predisposition to hypertriglyceridemia (e.g., DM, obesity or increased alcohol intake)
- The genetic predisposition for age-related osteoporosis
- History of childhood osteoporosis
- Osteomalacia or other bone metabolism disorders. Not intended for the treatment of prepubertal acne
- Severe renal impairment
- Avoid alcohol
- Limit your intake of vitamin A supplements. Avoid taking foods that are rich in vitamin A
Storage Conditions
- Store between 20-25°C and protected from light.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children. Protect from light and moisture.
- Do not use Isotretinoin that is expired or out of date.
