How To Take Tamsulosin (Tamsuheal 0.4) 0.4 mg
If you are taking the tablet, you may take it with or without food.
Try to take it at the same time each day.
Tamsulosin must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking it unless instructed by the doctor.
Take Tamsulosin precisely as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Dosage of Tamsulosin (Tamsuheal 0.4) 0.4 mg
Adult: 400 mcg once daily.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose
Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Severe hypotensive effects
- Diarrhea
Seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Tamsulosin:
- History of orthostatic hypotension
- Severe renal impairment (CrCl <10 mL/min)
- Severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh scores >9)
- Concomitant use with potent CYP3A4 inhibitors in CYP2D6 poor metabolizers.

- Floppy iris syndrome in cataract and glaucoma surgery

- Diarrhea

- Malaise
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Ejaculation disorders including retrograde ejaculation, ejaculation failure
- Rarely, priapism
- Rhinitis
- Pruritus
- Urticaria
- Skin desquamation including erythema multiforme
- Dermatitis exfoliative
- Rarely, Stevens-Johnson syndrome.
- Hypotension
- Epistaxis
Warnings
Do not use Tamsulosin in people with the following conditions:
- History of orthostatic hypotension
- Severe kidney disease
- Severe liver disease
- Women
Do not take Tamsulosin with the following medicines:
- Ketoconazole
- Cimetidine
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are receiving any of these medicines:
- Warfarin
- Diclofenac
- Paroxetine
- Furosemide
- Doxazosin
- Terazosin
- Sildenafil
- Tadalafil
Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and non-prescription medicines.

Tamsulosin is an antagonist of alpha 1-adrenoceptors, which intervene in smooth muscle tone in the prostate. It leads to smooth muscle relaxation in the bladder neck and prostate, thereby improving urine flow and reducing the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).

Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Patient with myocardial dysfunction or angina pectoris
- History of sulphonamide allergy
- Prostate cancer
- Discontinue therapy 5-9 weeks before cataract or glaucoma surgery. Not indicated for use in women.
- Avoid alcohol.
Storage Conditions
- Store below 30°C.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
- Do not use Tamsulosin that is expired or out of date.
