How To Take
This medicine may be taken with or without food. Take it in the evening. Try to take it at the same time each day.
If you are taking the oral tablet, swallow it whole with water.
You may stop taking Levocetirizine once you feel better unless your doctor has instructed you otherwise.
Take Levocetirizine precisely as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by the doctor.
Dosage of Levocetirizine (Cetzime) 5 mg
Adult: 2.5-5 mg once daily in the evening.
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose of Levocetirizine (Cetzime) 5 mg
Signs of overdose may include the following:
- Restlessness (children)
Seek medical help immediately.
People with the following medical conditions should not take Levocetirizine:
- End stage kidney disease
Levocetirizine may have the following side effects:
- Central nervous system depression
- Rebound pruritus
- Otitis media
- Dry mouth
- Abdominal pain
- Sleep disorder
Do not use in people with the following conditions:
- Severe kidney disease
- Undergoing dialysis

Levocetirizine is an active enantiomer of cetirizine, an antihistamine drug that binds affinity to H1-receptor and selectively competes for H1-receptor sites on effector cells in the gastrointestinal tract, blood vessels, and respiratory tract.

Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Patient with increased risk of urinary retention (e.g., spinal cord lesion, prostatic hyperplasia)
- Epileptic patients and at risk of convulsion
- Mild to moderate renal impairment
Pregnancy and lactation
- Avoid alcohol. Alcohol will worsen the dizziness and drowsiness caused by Levocetirizine
- Store between 20-25°C.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
- Do not use Levocetirizine that is expired or out of date.
