Duloxetine (Dulata 20) 20 mg tablet is a serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor used in the treatment of depression and anxiety. It is also used in the treatment of nerve pain in people who have diabetes or fibromyalgia.

How To Take
This medicine may be taken with or without food. Try to make it at the same time each day.
Duloxetine must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking it unless instructed otherwise, as stopping it suddenly could worsen your condition.
Take Duloxetine exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.
Dosage
Adult: Depression: Initial: 20-30 mg twice a day or 60 mg once daily, then increase the dose in increments of 30 mg/day over one week. Maximum of 120 mg/day.
Anxiety: 30 or 60 mg once daily. Maximum of 120 mg/day.
Diabetic neuropathy: 60 mg once daily. Maximum of 120 mg/day in divided doses.
Fibromyalgia: Initial: 30 mg once daily for one week, then increase to 60 mg once daily.
Missed Dose
If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.
Do not double a dose under any circumstances.
Overdose
Signs of overdose may include the following:
- Somnolence
- Coma
- Serotonin syndrome
- Seizures
- Vomiting
- Tachycardia
Seek medical help immediately.
Contraindications
People with the following medical conditions should not take Duloxetine:
- Hepatic impairment
- Severe renal impairment
- Uncontrolled hypertensionor narrow-angle glaucoma
- Concomitant use w/ MAOIs or w/in 14 days of discontinuing the MAOI
- Use withlinezolid or IV methylene blue. Concomitant use with potent CYP1A2 inhibitors (e.g., ciprofloxacin, enoxacin).

Potentially Fatal:
- Hepatic failure withor without jaundice
Warnings
Do not use Duloxetine in people with the following conditions:
- Severe kidney disease
- Liver disease
- Uncontrolled high blood pressure

- Linezolid
- Amitriptyline
- Desipramine
- Imipramine
- Flecainide
- Propafenone
- Sumatriptan

- St John’s wort

Inform your doctor and pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines, including herbal tonics such as traditional Chinese medicines, supplements, and non-prescription medicines.

How Does It Work?
Duloxetine is a potent inhibitor of neuronal reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and to a lesser extent, dopamine. It has no significant affinity for adrenergic, muscarinic, cholinergic, histaminergic, opioid, glutamate, and GABA receptors. It also does not inhibit monoamine oxidase.

Take special precautions if you have the following conditions:
- Hypertension
- Gastroparesis
- Mania or hypomania
- Increased intraocular pressure or at risk of acute narrow-angle glaucoma
- Seizures
- Bleeding disorders
- Mild to moderate renal impairment
- Smokers
- Pregnancy and lactation
- Avoid alcohol
Storage Conditions
- Store below 30°C.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from the reach of children.
- Do not use Duloxetine that is expired or out of date.
