Finasteride 1mg (Healpecia 1) 1 mg tablet is a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound and a specific inhibitor of steroid Type II 5α-reductase used on its own or with other medicines to treat symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland in men, called Benign Prostate Hypertrophy (BPH). The enlarged prostate gland may cause problems in urination. It may also be used in treating male pattern baldness.

How To Take

This medicine may be taken with or without food. Try to make it at the same time each day.

Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water. Do not divide or crush it.

Finasteride must be taken regularly for it to be effective. Continue taking this medicine even when you feel better. Do not stop taking it unless instructed by the doctor.

Take Finasteride exactly as directed by your doctor or according to the instructions on the label. Do not take more or less than instructed by your doctor.

Dosage of Finasteride 1mg (Healpecia 1) 1 mg

Adult: Benign prostatic hyperplasia: 5 mg once daily. 

Male pattern baldness: 1 mg once daily

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. If you often forget to take your medicine, let your doctor and pharmacist know.

Do not double a dose under any circumstances.

Overdose of Finasteride 1mg (Healpecia 1) 1 mg

If you think you may have used Finasteride more than the usual dose, please seek medical help immediately.

Contraindications

People with the following medical conditions should not take Finasteride:

Finasteride is a synthetic 4-azasteroid compound and a competitive hepatic 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor that inhibits testosterone conversion to dihydrotestosterone and markedly suppresses serum dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels. It decreases scalp DHT levels found in male pattern baldness, thereby reducing serum DHT, resulting in increased hair regrowth and slowed hair loss.
